De wereld verbeteren
Een bekwaam onderzoeker zit in zijn kantoor te werken aan een project om de wereld te verbeteren. Plots komt zijn dochtertje van 5 jaar binnen. “Ik wil spelen” zegt ze. Maar de man antwoord dat hij nu geen tijd heeft en dat ze hem verder moet laten werken. “Want ik wil de wereld beter maken”, zegt hij. Na wat zeuren lijkt zijn dochtertje toe te geven, maar dan verandert ze van tactiek. “Laat mijn dan helpen, dan ben je vlugger klaar met de wereld te verbeteren”, zegt ze.
De man is vertederd en zoekt een oplossing. Hij vindt in een tijdschrift een mooie wereldkaart, scheurt die in stukken en geeft alles aan zijn dochtertje. “Hier breng jij deze wereld maar weer helemaal in orde”. Hij hoopt zo voor de rest van de dag van haar vanaf te zijn, want zijn dochter is nog klein en kent het beeld van de wereldkaart niet.
Maar na een kwartiertje komt ze fier terug in zijn kantoor gestapt met
de wereldkaart netjes aan elkaar geplakt. “Klaar!” roept ze uit.
“Hoe heb je dat gedaan?” vraagt papa verbaast.
“Gemakkelijk” zegt het meisje. Toen je de kaart uit het tijdschrift scheurde,
zag ik dat op de achterkant, een foto van een mens stond. Toen ik de wereld
niet in elkaar kon puzzelen, heb ik alle stukjes omgedraaid en eerst ‘de mens
in orde gebracht’. Toen ik daarna het blad omdraaide, zag ik dat de wereld ook
in orde was.

Heal the world
A well-known researcher is working in his office on a
project to heal the world. His daughte5 years of age walks into his office
and says "dad I want to play”.
But the father tells his daughter that he doesn’t have
time to play because he is working on a very important project to heal the
world…"Because I want to make the world better a better place live,"
he says…
After some nagging his daughter seems to accept his
decision but then she changes tactics. "Let my help you” she says, so
you’ll finish sooner with healing the world…
The father is softened and moved by this well meant offer of his daughter… and starts
to think about a compromising solution. In a magazine near to his desk, he sees
a beautiful map of the world. The father tears the map into different pieces and
gives this self-made puzzle to his daughter.
"Here, he
says, you can help me by making this world whole again. He hopes that this will keep her busy for the
rest of the day because his daughter is not yet familiar with the image of the
world map.
Less than fifteen minutes passed when she came back in to her dad’s office with a big smile and the world map neatly glued back together. "Ready!" She stated proudly.
"How did you do that?" asked the surprised dad.
"Easy," said the girl. When you tore the map from the magazine I saw that on the backside there was a picture of a human being. When I could not puzzle the world back together, I turned all the bits and made the human whole again ... when I then turned the sheet, I saw that the world was also whole again…
